- Rinse with warm salt water – Not only can this help to dislodge any food that might be causing the problem, but salt water also has healing properties that may help to heal an infection, if one has developed. Do not swallow.
- Rinse with 3% hydrogen peroxide- Hydrogen peroxide can also help heal an infection and dislodge food. Plus, it has a bleaching action that may make your teeth a bit whiter during the process. Do not swallow.
- Rinse with whiskey – Whiskey has an antiseptic effect, and the alcohol may also numb the pain.
- Dab clove oil or vanilla extract on the spot with the pain.
These are quick and easy remedies using products that most of us have at home already, and they can work wonders toward getting your pain under control. You’ll still likely need to see a dentist in order to solve the root of the problem.

If you’re having toothaches on a regular basis, you will want to step up your oral hygiene routine. You see, while toothaches can be caused by a wide range of problems, such as gum disease, loose teeth, infections and cavities; all these tooth ailments have a single root cause. The cause of nearly all dental problems, including toothaches is the overgrowth of bacteria. If our dental hygiene routine is not sufficient to kill the bacteria in our mouths on a daily basis, we are prone to gingivitis, gum disease, cavities and loose teeth.

There are many all natural products, like OraMD, that contain high concentrations of mint oil, so they are very effective at killing the bacteria that is likely the underlying cause of that toothache, and it’s all natural, too!
So, try these simple natural remedies to stop your tooth pain. But, remember to add all natural mint based products to your dental hygiene routine to prevent further toothaches in the future.
